His legacy lives on through his loving family and the memories they cherish.

Clarence C. Carter III, who was known to everyone as "Jim," passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 81. Born in Bridgeport, Jim made Woodmont, Connecticut his home in 1970, where he lived with his beloved wife for 55 years.

Jim and Janice Frederickson Carter shared 58 years of marriage after exchanging vows on April 14, 1967. Their union was blessed with four children: the late Kelli Goulart (Rich), Mary D'Amato (James), Kevin Carter (Kristin) and Hope Martin (Jake). Jim was a loving grandfather to James and Frank D'Amato, who affectionately knew him as "Poppy". In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Jim is survived by his sister, Shirley Kerr, and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Those who knew Jim will remember his passion for gardening, where he found peace and purpose tending to his plants. He had a special gift for bringing flowers and plants "back to life" - nurturing them when others might have given up.
