Fight At Gas Station Leads To High-Speed Chase, Crash: Bridgeport PD
No injuries were reported in the Friday incident, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — An altercation at a gas station in Bridgeport last week led to a high-speed car chase through Bridgeport before the suspect was apprehended in Milford, according to Bridgeport police.
The incident began at about 11:20 a.m. on Friday at a gas station in the 900 block of Park Avenue in Bridgeport. Three people were involved in the altercation, one of whom was the suspect, Curtis Dwayne Gibbs.
During the altercation, a firearm was discharged, but no injuries were reported, according to police.

"Later that day, at 2:45 pm, Bridgeport Police Department stopped a motor vehicle in the area of Norman Street and State Street," wrote Tiadora Josef, Bridgeport's director of Public Information, in a statement. "Curtis Dwayne Gibbs refused to get out of the vehicle and refused verbal directions from the police. This led to a vehicle pursuit through the City of Bridgeport, causing a motor vehicle accident. This pursuit then continued to I-95 north. Milford Police assisted Bridgeport Police and The Connecticut State Police in stopping the vehicle at exit 41."

- Interfering with officers
- Reckless endangerment, 1st degree
- Reckless Driving
- Engaging police in pursuit
- Assault on an officer
Police are continuing to investigate the case. Gibbs was held in lieu of bail of $60,000, and he was scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday.
