Bridgeport Man In Custody After Trying To Kill Ex-Wife: Police (patch.com) — Bridgeport police say a local man was arrested at the Canadian border after an alleged armed attack on his ex-wife in the East End, during which a shot was fired and a struggle spilled into the street. The victim escaped and sought help from a nearby home, and authorities credit cooperation between Bridgeport officers and federal and Canadian agencies for the quick capture. 
2. Why the Bridgeport Board of Education hasn't begun searching for a new superintendent (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport’s school board can’t officially start searching for a permanent superintendent until it finishes updating its bylaws under a state-directed improvement plan tied to past budget troubles. Interim superintendent Royce Avery remains in charge while the board works with state officials and the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, hoping to win approval to launch a formal hiring process within the next month.
3. Police say they found him loitering in a Waterbury apartment building where non-residents were suspected of trespassing and drug use, and allegedly seized crack cocaine and cash during the arrest.

Fueled by the grit of injured Ukraine soldiers, Yale doctors and fundraisers respond: Dan Haar (nhregister.com) — Bridgeport gets a meaningful mention as the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital helps treat at least one injured Ukrainian soldier, tying the city into a global humanitarian effort.
