Former Bridgeport Stop & Shop Building Faces Foreclosure: Report

The building at 2600 Madison Ave. in Bridgeport's North End is slated to become a self-storage facility.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Simcove, the company developing a former Bridgeport Stop & Shop into a self-storage facility, is facing foreclosure on the building for back taxes, the Connecticut Post reported.

Back taxes owed on the building, located at 2600 Madison Ave. in Bridgeport's North End, reportedly total more than $378,000. The city has imposed liens on the property, which reportedly were sold to a company named Tower DB XII Trust.

Attorneys for Simcove reportedly dispute the foreclosure amount, claiming that some back taxes have been paid.
