Former State Rep. John 'Jack' Hennessy Dies; Represented Bridgeport
The nine-term, Democratic state representative was 73.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — John "Jack" Hennessy, a nine-term, Democratic state representative who served Bridgeport's 127th District, died over the weekend at the age of 73, according to officials.
Mayor Joseph Ganim has requested flags be flown at half-staff on Monday in Hennessy's honor; his cause of death has not been disclosed. .
"I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of former-State Representative John (“Jack”) Hennessy," Ganim said in a statement. "Hennessy served in the General Assembly for 18 years representing the 127th District covering the North End of Bridgeport.

"As a veteran himself, Hennessy will be remembered for his work championing benefits and care for our men and women in uniform. Today, we remember and honor Jack for his public service."
Hennessy's tenure in the state House ended in 2022, when he lost Marcus Brown.

He was a retired truck driver, and served as a U.S. Army Ranger, the Connecticut Post reported.
