James “Jim” Michael Piner
Beloved Husband & Father. President & treasurer of Longshoremen's Assoc. Local 1398 and worked over 30 years as a machine & crane operator.

James “Jim” Michael Piner, 69 of Milford, passed away on August 9th, 2025. Jim was born to the late William and Lucille Piner on November 13, 1955, in Bridgeport, CT.
A graduate of Milford High School, he was voted as having the best sense of humor and was the captain of the football team, playing center. He attended trade school at the Technical Careers Institute of West Haven for combination welding and later started his landscaping business, Lawnmaster. He served as president and treasurer of Longshoremen's Association Local 1398 and worked for over 30 years as a machine and crane operator. Known for his strong work ethic, he took pride in giving his best in everything he did.
Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, and dog, Pinky, “the nurse” and listening to his friend Mike’s band play at local venues. He also followed Formula 1 racing and watched World War II History Channel Documentaries with a special passion for tanks. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandson, Alex, his “nap buddy,” taking his job as “Hee-Haw” seriously. Jim showered everyone with his quirky humor, appreciated a good prank, and was strong-willed. He loved his family more than anything and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He also enjoyed being outdoors and working in the yard, and he could always find a way to make everyday moments memorable.
