Overdose Spike Concerns Bridgeport Officials: Report

City leaders will meet with state officials to discuss the recent trends Wednesday.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A recent spike in overdoses has put city officials on alert, reports the Connecticut Post. One person died and six were hurt by overdoses, but the death was confirmed to be linked to opioid use.

The substance in the six others were not confirmed. City officials voice concerns of carfentanil, which is used to spike heroin. Officials will meet with state officials to discuss the trend.
