Dozens Of Students From Bridgeport Earn Dean's List Honors At UConn (patch.com) — Bridgeport families can celebrate as dozens of local students earned spots on the University of Connecticut’s fall 2025 Dean’s List, showcasing strong academic achievement from the city. The university released a long list of Bridgeport names, underscoring how many residents are excelling at the state’s flagship public institution.
   

2. Bridgeport Man Sentenced In Federal Case Involving Methamphetamine Dealing (patch.com) — Bridgeport residents are learning that a 42-year-old man from the city has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release in a methamphetamine trafficking case. Investigators say he was tied to drug parcels mailed from California and distributed in parts of Connecticut and Rhode Island, with the case handled in U.S. District Court in Hartford.
   

3. 2 of CT's largest cities join 5 other communities in filing lawsuits vs. insulin drugmakers, PBMs (hartfordbusiness.com) — Bridgeport has joined New Haven and five other Connecticut communities in suing major insulin makers and pharmacy benefit managers, alleging a long-running price-fixing scheme. City officials say inflated insulin costs drained funds from essential services by driving up expenses for employee and retiree health plans, with the case now expected to be folded into national multidistrict litigation.
   

4. M&T Bank closing branches at 8 Connecticut Stop & Shops (wtnh.com) — If you bank with M&T at the Brookside Stop & Shop on Main Street in Bridgeport, that in-store branch is scheduled to close on April 30, though the ATM will remain. M&T is also shutting seven other Stop & Shop branches across Connecticut while planning more stand‑alone locations, saying it’s adjusting its network to better match customer needs.
