Pedestrian Critically Injured In Bridgeport Crash: Police
The crash occurred Sunday night near the intersection of North Avenue and Center Street Extension in Bridgeport, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 45-year-old Bridgeport man was seriously injured and is hospitalized in critical condition, after he was struck by an SUV Sunday night near the intersection of North Avenue and Center Street Extension in Bridgeport, according to police.
Bridgeport police were called to the scene just after 11 p.m., when the victim was found unresponsive on the ground.
"After a preliminary investigation, it was determined a 38-year-old Bridgeport male was operating a 2012 black Audi Q7 and traveling east on North Avenue," wrote Sgt. Darryl Wilson in a statement. "The 38-year-old male operating a 2012 black Audi Q7 approached the area of 1289 North Avenue and struck a 45-year-old Bridgeport male, in the eastbound lane. The 45-year-old male was attempting to cross North Avenue from Center Street Extension."

The operator of the Audi was not injured, according to authorities, and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.
