Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting In Bridgeport: Police

The daytime shooting occurred on Sept. 11 on Spring Street in Bridgeport, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A suspect has been arrested on a warrant in connection with the fatal, Sept. 11 shooting of 37-year-old Bridgeport resident Akeem Shoucair-Grant on Spring Street in Bridgeport, according to authorities.

Bridgeport resident Roshay Williams, 46, surrendered to police Friday, and was charged with murder and criminal possession of a firearm. He is being held in lieu of bail of $1.5 million, and was scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday.

According to Bridgeport police, Williams "singled out" Shoucair-Grant and shot him multiple times in the 100 block of Spring Street, before fleeing the scene.

Police were notified of the 5:45 p.m. incident via an alert from the gunshot detection system ShotSpotter.
