Suspect Arrested In Shooting At University Of Bridgeport: Police

One person was injured in the incident, which occurred on Oct. 29.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Dylan Cruz-Tillery, the Queens, New York man wanted in connection with an Oct. 29 shooting at the University of Bridgeport, was arrested on a warrant by Bridgeport police Friday, according to authorities.

Tillery, 18, turned him in at police headquarters, and was charged with first-degree assault and carrying a pistol without a permit.

The shooting, which occurred in the university's Marina Dining Hall, left one person injured, and the school on temporary lockdown.

Neither Tillery nor the victim are students at the university, but both knew each other, according to police.

Tillery was held in lieu of bail of $250,000, and was scheduled to be arrigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday.

"Job well done by General Investigations; specifically Detective John Knapp and Sergeant Luigi Tucciarone," wrote Tiadora Josef, the city's director of Public Information.
