Victim Identified In Fatal Fire In Bridgeport

One person was killed, and three others injured, in a 2-alarm fire earlier this week in Bridgeport, according to officials.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 26-year-old woman was killed in an apartment building fire at 368 Connecticut Ave. earlier this week in Bridgeport, authorities said in an update Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Fabienne Laramee, according to Tiadora Josef, the city's director of Public Information.

“The Bridgeport Fire Department sends its condolences to the family during this difficult time,” Josef wrote in a statement.

The American Red Cross has assisted six families – 14 adults, six children, and one dog – who were displaced by the fire, according to Josef.

“The Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office, in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police, Fire, and Explosion investigation unit are working together as this is an active investigation to determine the cause of this structure fire,” Josef wrote.
