Thousands Without Power In CT: Town-By-Town Update
Here's an update on power outages across Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT — Strong winds and heavy rains barreled through the state late Thursday and continued to disrupt the Friday morning commute, as well as the power lines. At 1:45 p.m., more than 4,700 residents are without electricity. That total was as high as 13,000 in the early morning.
In a statement issued early Friday, Eversource officials said: "Our crews have been working through the night and this morning to clear and repair tree damage caused by the strong winds like here in Colchester, Bloomfield, and Montville. We'll continue working as quickly and safely as possible to make our communities safe and restore power."
The National Weather Service has issued high wind warnings and advisories for all of Connecticut.
