BROOKFIELD, CT — Two Brookfield residents split a winning lottery ticket purchased in Newtown on Monday.

Identified only as "Winners" by the Connecticut State Lottery, the locals played Powerball at Caraluzzi's Newtown Market on Queen Street. Each took home $25,000 from the ticket worth $50,000.
