Alchemy: Hard Work, Great Weather, & Community Spirit Shine At Brookfield Block Party, In Photos
Brookfield's annual Block Party drew 900 attendees and 64 vendors, with organizers already planning for next year.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Organizers are calling last Sunday's Brookfield Block Party, now in its fifth year, a huge success.
"What makes the event a success is good planning, dedicated hard-working volunteers, and (luckily this year) nice weather," Brookfield community development specialist Greg Dembowski told Patch.
Plenty of people showing up and buying lots of stuff is an important part of the definition as well, and Brookfield Block Party 2025 had both, in spades. Dembowski estimated attendance at about 900, patronizing a record number of 64 vendors.
"[The 8-member Block Party Committee] will be meeting next week to close out the accounting and determine how much is available to distribute to the municipal departments who support the event and help make Brookfield a great town," Dembowski said. The Committee plans to present the award checks at the July Board of Selectmen's meeting.
Almost immediately, the volunteers will begin their work for next year's event. Planned changes include locating all food vendors together to create a food court and placing like businesses together.
"We are still collecting feedback and will implement as many improvements as possible," Dembowski said.
