Brookfield residents and property owners are asked to attend the annual town meeting on May 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium, where they will hear about the proposed 2014-15 budget and set a date for referendum.
The current proposal includes a 2.54 percent increase in spending over the current year, with an additional $1,496,620 allocated. If approved at referendum, the mill rate would rise by 1.69 percent, from 25.4 to 25.83.
