Brookfield Block Party Returns With Record Participation

Brookfield's 2025 Block Party will feature 64 vendors, live music, and food, with crowds expected to exceed last year's turnout.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Brookfield’s annual Block Party is set to return Sun., June 8, with a record number of vendors, expanded sponsorship, and growing community participation, according to the town’s economic development director.

“We already have more sponsors, more tents than we’ve ever had,” said Brookfield community development specialist Greg Dembowski. “We are at capacity.”

Now in its fifth year, the event will take place along Old Route 7, just south of the Four Corners intersection. The closed-off stretch between Portobello Restaurant and Brookfield Cleaners at Laurel Hill will host 64 vendors, live music, and a variety of food offerings. Admission is free.

“If the weather’s nice, I expect another 1,200 or so people,” Dembowski said, referencing last year’s turnout, which was bolstered by sunny skies. The event is held rain or shine.

The 2024 edition of the Block Party was considered a major success by town officials and residents alike. That year, the event saw attendees enjoying the festival atmosphere, with booths showcasing local businesses, nonprofits, artisans, and civic organizations. A dedicated section for children’s activities, performances by local bands, and a lineup of food trucks contributed to the event’s growing popularity.

The town anticipates this year’s party will generate more than $10,000 in profit.

In addition to entertainment and vendor booths, the 2025 Block Party will also feature a tent dedicated to Brookfield Restaurant Week, which launches later that same week. “People will learn more about Restaurant Week at the block party,” Dembowski noted.

The event will include support from the Brookfield Police Department and the Brookfield Fire Department, which will assist with traffic control and public safety throughout the day.

Due to increased interest and limited space, the town has begun turning away vendor applications. “We’re now at the point where we’re turning down vendors. We’re simply full,” Dembowski said.

The growth of the Block Party reflects Brookfield’s broader economic development goals. “Success will be measured by the feedback we get,” Dembowski said, noting the town’s emphasis on building strong partnerships with businesses and residents alike.

The 2025 Brookfield Block Party begins at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. Parking and admission are free.
