Brookfield Emergency Crews Rescue Motorists After Crash

Two motorists were trapped and entangled in an SUV, with the passenger being on top of the driver and partially ejected.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Brookfield emergency workers were called to extricate motorists from their SUV following a traffic accident Friday.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., Brookfield firefighters, EMS and police were dispatched to the area of 119 Junction Road for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. First responders from the police upgraded the call to an extrication assignment.

Two motorists in the red SUV were trapped and entangled, with the passenger being on top of the driver and partially ejected out of the driver's side window and windshield, according to a report from the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company. Additional emergency workers from Danbury were called to the scene.

Crews worked for approximately 51 minutes to remove both parties from the SUV utilizing struts, cribbing, Hurst extrication tools and a winch. In total, four people were taken to Danbury Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
