Brookfield Gas Prices Down Going Into August
In Connecticut, a gallon of self-service regular is averaging $3.55, down three cents from a week ago and down one cent from a month ago.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The price of gasoline continues to trend lower across the Northeast despite strong domestic demand for gasoline and tightening supplies, according to AAA Northeast.
In Connecticut, a gallon of self-service regular is averaging $3.55, down three cents from a week ago and down one cent from a month ago. The national average is $3.50, the same as last week and up one cent from last month.
In Brookfield, the best price for a gallon of regular fuel is $3.31 at both BJ's Wholesale at 106 Federal Road and the Costco at 200 Federal Road. At the CITGO at 177 Federal Road, you'll pay $3.37, and the cost is $3.39 at the Sunoco at 30 Federal Road. At the Shell station at 819 Federal Road, the price for a gallon of petrol is currently $3.63. The update was posted Tuesday morning by shopping app GasBuddy.

"Even though domestic refiners are humming, oil and gas markets are cooling on ho-hum global demand," said Lauren Fabrizi, spokesperson for AAA Northeast. "Typically, drawdowns in oil and gasoline inventories put pressure on pump prices, but at the end of the day, cheaper oil is driving market prices for now."

On Monday, Mississippi and Tennessee had the lowest prices in the nation at $2.97 and $3.06, respectively. Hawaii and California hold the highest prices in the nation this week, both at $4.65. Connecticut holds the 15th place on the list of highest gas prices in the nation.
