Brookfield Local Hero: A Third-Generation Nurse

BROOKFIELD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Jodi Luizzi in Brookfield nominated Brookfield nurse Lauren McRedmond as Patch Local Hero.

McRedmond is just out of nursing school, and suddenly found herself on the front lines of the COVID-19 battle.

"She is brand new at this, but finds her way each day and calls upon what she learned in college and also embraces the fact that she is a third generation nurse," Luizzi said. "She was born to do this."
