Brookfield High Graduate Stabbed To Death By Husband: NY Police

BROOKFIELD,CT — A recent Brookfield High School graduate was stabbed to death by her husband in Yonkers, NY, earlier this spring, according to Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino. Amanda Trenck, 25, was found dead in her bedroom in Yonkers and her husband Joseph Abraham Sr., 54, with cuts on his wrists.

Abraham was indicted and arraigned in Westchester County Court Wednesday and plead not guilty to the charges of second degree murder and two counts of weapons possession. According to Scarpino's office, an argument between Trenck and Abraham broke out at around 1:30 a.m. on May 21 at their apartment on Van Cortlandt Park Avenue. Police say they found Abraham unconscious in a bathtub and Trenck's body in her bedroom, slumped over with "a large amount of blood" visible

The New York Medical Examiner's office say Treck died from sharp force injuries of the neck, ches and upper extremities involving her ribs, jugular veins and lungs.

According to her obituary from the Lillis Funeral Home, the couple had a child together and she graduated from Brookfield High School in 2010. She had been working as a juice mixer at Juice Press in Armonk, NY.

Abraham is due in court again on Sept. 21. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Strongin.
