BROOKFIELD, CT — More than 400 people gathered at Brookfield Village on Saturday for the town’s annual holiday tree lighting and Santa fire truck parade, an event co-hosted this year by the Brookfield Girl Scouts, Brookfield Village and the town’s Economic Development Department.

The celebration, held in the Brookfield Village food court, featured Christmas songs performed by the Brookfield High School choir, along with cookies, hot chocolate and craft-making activities offered by the Girl Scouts.

State Sen. Steve Harding and state Rep. Marty Foncello greeted attendees and joined the crowd in the countdown to the tree lighting.
