Brookfield Local Hero: 'Compassionate' Food Pantry Manager
Local Hero Susan Ludwig has been the volunteer manager of the Brookfield Food Pantry since 2010.
BROOKFIELD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.
Susan Ludwig has been the volunteer manager of the Brookfield Food Pantry since 2010 and has helped countless people to receive needed food, well before most people had ever heard the term "food insecurity."
According to her nominator Jean Hartnett, Ludwig is "compassionate and treats all clients with utmost courtesy," and has "added the ability to shop for needed supplies from Amazon etc. using a Facebook page. Now, curbside pickup is available due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
