Brookfield Police Rescue Dog in Hot Car, Locate Missing Woman and More

The Brookfield Police Department had a busy week responding to several accidents and incidents.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Police Department had a busy week responding to several accidents and incidents. The department said that the Brookfield Police Dive Team was activated twice in three days for a boating accident investigation on Candlewood Lake and to assist the Danbury Fire Department in locating, searching, and securing an unoccupied vehicle that plunged into the lake.

On Monday Marylou Kurtzman was located by the Brookfield Police and Brookfield Fire Department after she was reported missing from herWhite Pine Drive residence. The 75-year-old woman has advanced stage dementia.

Brookfield police also removed a dog from hot vehicle on Sunday. The temperature was 80 degrees outside, and 114 degrees inside the vehicle with the windows cracked. "Think about your pets, leave them home," the department said in a statement.
