Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar
BROOKFIELD, CT — Summer is almost over for Brookfield students. The first day of school for students for the 2024-2025 school year will be after Labor Day, Sept. 3. It will be a full day.
The new state law regarding the Kindergarten age requirement begins with the start of the new 2024-2025 fiscal year. Now, students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1.
Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

- Rosh Hashanah, no school: Oct. 3
- Professional development day, no school: Oct. 14
- Family-teacher conferences (K-5): Oct. 23-25
- Professional development day, no school: Nov. 5
- Family-teacher conferences (6-12): Nov. 6-7
- Early dismissal: Nov. 27
- Thanksgiving break, no school: Nov. 28-29
- Holiday recess, no school: Dec. 23–Jan. 1
- Professional development day, early dismissal: Jan. 17
