From The Brookfield Museum And Historical Society

At the Williams Memorial Park in Brookfield Saturday Morning on Veterans Day, the Brookfield VFW Post for the first time in 15 years hosted a ceremony to honor the community’s veterans.

Joseph Beal, Commander of Brookfield VFW Post 10201, led the commemorative event which included an opening prayer, the raising of the flag, the call to present arms and the laying of a wreath in front of the town’s military memorial monument. In addressing the attendees at the ceremony, Beal recalled the sacrifices made by the members of the Brookfield community who once served in the armed forces. He further called upon the residents to support and keep in their prayers those men and women from Brookfield who are members of todays all volunteer armed forces and one day will bear the proud title of military veterans.
