Brookfield Welcomes New Officer From Ridgefield
The town's newest police officer was sworn in during a ceremony with members of both departments.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Police Department welcomed a new officer who most recently served in the area. Flanked by members of the both police departments, his family and police chief Jay Purcell, the department Thursday swore in Officer Terry Hawaux, who made a lateral transfer from the Ridgefield Police Department.

Hawaux served Ridgefield for four years. His wife, Erin, fixed his new Brookfield Police Badge on his uniform for the first time.

A Facebook post from the department indicated Hawaux would spend the next few weeks on "accelerated field training.
"Ofc. Hawaux will be spending the next few weeks on accelerated field training, where he will be getting acquainted with the “ins and outs” of our amazing town and police department," read the post.
