Candlewood Lake Authority Violated Records Law, Ruling Says: Report
A commission has found the Candlewood Lake Authority acted in violation of public records law.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Candlewood Lake Authority was found to be in violation of two statutes stemming from a record request, reports the News Times. The Freedom of Information Commission found that the authority did not promptly respond to the request from John Hodge, a delegate from New Fairfield.

Hodge had asked for copies of three years worth of communications between former Executive Director Larry Marsican and elected officials of the five lake towns. Hodge filed a complaint with the commission in March.

The FOI commission found that the authority failed to do a thorough search for letters, and that the public had a right to view the communication. The authority provided Hodge with emails records after he filed the complaint.
