Celebi, Krebs place 1-2 In 3.1-mile Roxbury Thanksgiving Day Race

ROXBURY – Tate Celebi, a recent running ace at the Taft School in Watertown captured the eighth annual Roxbury Thanksgiving Day Charity Race, covering the 3.1-mile loop in 17-minutes, 42 seconds.

That was not far off the course record of 17:07 that was set in 2024 by Alex Hancock of Roxbury.

Emma Krebs, a Washington native who graduated from the University of Connecticut, placed second in 18:44.

The race raised about $1,800, which will be divided donated to the Roxbury Scholarship Foundation and the Roxbury Ambulance Association.

There were more than 130 finishers, a record for the event, which is sponsored by the Roxbury Road Runners Club.

The top five male and top five female finishers received wooden medallions that were made by Dave Harvey, a former season champion in the Roxbury Road Runners Club series.
