Cipolla, Purssell, Denley: Recent Death Notices From Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT —Recent obituaries from Brookfield.

Gloria (Critille) Cipolla, 94, died on May 21, 2025; she worked in the Brookfield school system as a cook and later as a secretary, and enjoyed traveling, baking, knitting and crocheting for charitable causes, reading James Patterson novels, and participating in activities at the Brookfield Senior Center.

Robert Purssell, 80, died on May 5, 2025; he worked as an engineer and manager at Pratt & Whitney and IBM, lectured at the Brookfield Historical Society, wrote several novels, served as a church deacon and youth leader, and enjoyed ice hockey, sailing, racing Miatas, traveling, history, and rose gardening.

John Joseph Denley, 79, died on May 3, 2025; he worked as a self-employed plumbing and heating contractor, served as a Boy Scout leader, coached youth softball, enjoyed traveling to Sint Maarten, gardening, camping, storytelling, and relaxing on his back porch.
