Brookfield, it’s time to rally behind one of our own! Former Brookfield Bobcat Ruby Doswell has dedicated her life to education, and now she has the opportunity to be recognized nationally as America’s Favorite Teacher—but she needs our help to win.

Ruby, a proud graduate of Bank Street College of Education with a Masters in Literacy, has spent her career advocating for students who need it most. Her passion for education was shaped by her own struggles in grade school, giving her a unique ability to connect with children facing similar challenges.

“I made it my life’s work to create a safe space for growth, understanding, and empathy,” Ruby shares. “I’ve already experienced the impact a compassionate teacher can have, and now I have the opportunity to be that source of support, encouragement, and guidance for others who may need it the most.”

Her commitment to education is best illustrated through one of her most memorable experiences—working with a third grader in an underserved community who was struggling both academically and personally. With patience, the right resources, and a deep understanding of his circumstances, Ruby was able to help him discover a love for reading through graphic novels. This is just one example of the countless lives she’s touched.

Now, she has the chance to win $25,000, a feature in Reader’s Digest, and a virtual assembly with Bill Nye for her students—but she can’t do it without Brookfield’s support!
