Freezin' For A Reason: Brookfield Police Organize 2025 Penguin Plunge

The Brookfield Police Department will once again host a Penguin Plunge fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut​.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Police Department will once again host a Penguin Plunge fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut.

The annual "Plunge Candlewood" will see participants challenge friends and co-workers to see who can raise the most money for the event that ends with everyone running into the frigid waters of Candlewood Lake.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m., at Brookfield Town Beach, 460 Candlewood Lake Road. Registration starts at 10 a.m., or you can register and donate online here.

Every dime raised goes directly towards the costs associated with hosting the Special Olympics summer and winter games.

The event is team-oriented, and costumes are encouraged.
