Grants To Fund 2 Major Projects In Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Board of Finance voted this week to approve two grants that will aid local projects, according to meeting minutes filed by the town.

The town approved a special appropriation not to exceed $1.7 million for the cost of engineering and design and construction of Phase 7 of the Streetscape Project, and $1.591 million will be paid with a LoTCIP grant and $109,000 to be paid pursuant to a public-private funding agreement.

Additionally, the finance board approved a special appropriation not to exceed $589,999 for the cost of construction of pickleball courts and supporting amenities at 100 Pocono Road, with $489,000 to be paid with a STEAP grant and $100,000 to be paid from the Capital Non-Recurring Fund.
