The Heron Has Landed: State Approves Brookfield Park Name, Sign Design
The CT Department of Transportation has approved the renaming of the pocket park at 756 Federal Road to Heron Park.

BROOKFIELD, CT — It's official.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation has approved the renaming of the pocket park, located in front of the Dunkin plaza at 756 Federal Road in the Town Center District, to "Heron Park."
The state officials also approved of signage, as depicted in the artist's rendition above.

The name was recommended by the Arts Commission and recently approved by the Board of Selectmen and Park & Recreation Commission, according to Greg Dembowski, director of Economic Development in Brookfield.
The park was first unveiled last month, marking the completion of the third phase of Brookfield's downtown renovation, Streetscape.

Work will begin to create and install the new sign as soon as possible, Dembowski said.
