Joaquin 'Jackie' H. Valentine, 62, Passed Away
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 17 at St. Joseph's Church in Brookfield.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Joaquin "Jackie" H. Valentine, 62, of Bronx, NY passed away on September 4, 2016 in his sleep.He was born in Bronx, NY, on April 6, 1953, son of the late Joaquin and Lillian Valentine. He is survived by his two children Lillian Song Hope and Michael Rafael Valentine, along with his five grandchildren. He is also survived by his two siblings: Valerie Valentine and Benjamin Perez, uncles and aunts, as well as numerous cousins.
Jackie graduated from James Monroe High School in 1971 and served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1992. While in the Army he earned his Associates from Hagerstown Junior College and he retired as a First Sergeant in the Army. Upon retirement he opened a school in Poughkeepsie. Later he gave his school away and worked for Prudential as a technician. He was a kind and generous man. Whether it be a family member or a friend, his life and passion was to serve others. Jack was a proud soldier, loving father, and caring friend. He will be missed.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at 9:30am at St. Joseph's Church, 163 Whisconier Rd, Brookfield, CT with the Rev. George F. O'Neill, Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of Joaquin Valentine to the Alzheimer's Association, Post Office Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090 or at www.alz.org.

The family would like to thank Silver Springs and Western Rehabilitation of CT's nursing and CNA's, Vitas and Palliative Care and all those that helped Jackie through the stages of Frontal Temporal Dementia.
