In Memory of Stephen Louis Bothwell, 56, of Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT — Stephen Louis Bothwell, 56, passed away peacefully at his home on September 24, 2016 in Brookfield. He was born March 3, 1960 in Greenwich, the son of H. Louis & Lillian (Crawford) Bothwell. Stephen worked with his father as building contractors for many years in the lower Fairfield County area. He loved the outdoors, hunting, skiing, biking and snowmobiling at his family's farm in Dutchess County, NY.

In 1997, Stephen was severely injured in a construction accident and became paralyzed. Although he had to fight the hardest battle of his life he continued to live his life to the fullest. There was no such thing as lazy in his house, he taught his children what hard work was and that no matter what obstacles you face, you can always get the job done. To know him was to love him for his sense of humor, strength and love of his family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his son David, of Brookfield; his daughter Courtney, of Hamden; his father H. Louis Bothwell and his mother Lillian Bothwell of Brookfield; his sister Sharon Willis, of Brookfield and many nieces and nephews. Also, his former wife, Laura George, of Danbury. Funeral services will be private.
