Obituary: Debra Broderick, 54, of Brookfield

Debra Jean Broderick, age 54, of Brookfield passed away on Thursday August 10, 2017 while on vacation unexpectedly at the Jersey Shore. Debra was born August 22, 1962 in Norwalk, a daughter to the late David and Jean Gall Smeriglio.

Debra worked as an Office Manager for a number of local companies. Starting at 15 she worked for a trucking company, then became the office manager at her father's radiator business. She went on to medical pratices, and other profesional businesses. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, knitting special items for her family and coloring with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed racing and was an active member with her family in racing BMX and modified racing.

Debra will be missed by her children: Cheryl Crnecki, Tiffany Broderick, Bubba Broderick and his fiance, Nathalia Lopez; her grandchildren: Natasha Lynn Crnecki, Mercedes Lynn Rahim and James Gilbert Broderick, V; her siblings: Merriann Smeriglio-Hammond and her husband Richard Braunsdors, Dave Smeriglio Jr. and his wife Pam and Susan Sokol along with her husband John; her partner Kevin Bieber (who have been together for 10 years); nieces and nephews: Richie Hammond, III, Sarah and Abby Smeriglio, Louie Neto, Jr., Danielle and Leann Sokol; and her former husband and friend Jimmy Broderick.

Visitation will be from 5pm - 8pm on Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd., Brookfield with a Funeral Service at 6:30 pm.
