BROOKFIELD, CT — Gregory Norman Waldmiller, affectionately known to many as Wally, age 69, of Brookfield, passed away on March 8, 2024, surrounded by his family after a long hard fought battle with leukemia.
Greg was a dedicated full-time police officer of the Brookfield Police Department from 1977 to 2004. After retiring, he remained a member of the Brookfield Police Department as a special police officer until his death. He also worked at the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles from 2004 to 2020. Greg and his wife Barbara started Flags for Brookfield in 2002 to display patriotism for the town of Brookfield after the 9/11 tragedies by lining Route 25 with over 115 American Flags for 18 years, until passing it over to the Brookfield VFW. Greg had a passion for his yard, which was the envy of the neighborhood.
