Obituary: Jean M. Hartell (Schoenfeld) , 90, Of Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, CT — Jean M. Hartell (Schoenfeld) passed away on Jan. 25, 2024, in her 90th year. The daughter of Fritz H. and Dorothy (Fennell) Schoenfeld, she was born in Danbury, and graduated from St. Peter’s School and Danbury High School, Class of '50.

She attended St. Joseph’s Church, Brookfield, and served for many years on various committees.

She was the former proprietor of Hartell’s Liquor Store, Danbury, and worked at Meeker’s Hardware store until her retirement.

Jean loved flowers, birds, spending time with family, and attending all of her son’s, daughters’, and granddaughters’ sporting and artistic events.

She leaves behind her daughter Cheryl Hartell (Anthony Aloisio) of Lake Grove, NY, son Dr. Gary Hartell (Cindi Brassington) of Willington, CT, daughter Mary Jean Hartell (John Conte) of Brookfield, CT, and granddaughters Cara Aloisio, Megan Aloisio, Sadie Hartell, Kaitlin Conte, Hannah Marona (Robert), and Rebecca Conte. She also leaves her sister Anne Mastrianni of Danbury, CT, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., Feb. 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Brookfield.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury, on Wed., Jan. 31, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
