Obituary: Yola Frances Monti, 99, Of Brookfield

Yola Frances Monti, 99, formerly of Yonkers, NY, beloved wife of the late Carlo Monti of Auronzo, Italy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Filosa in Danbury, CT. She was born in 1918 in Greenbrier, West Virginia to the late John and Santa DelFrari.
Yola was raised in North Tarrytown, NY and attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC. She married Carlo in 1938; they were married for 43 years prior to his death. Together, they raised two sons, Carl of Brookfield, CT and Ronald (Marian Patricia) of Raleigh, NC.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, and especially by her sons and four cherished grandchildren, Christina, Peter, Sara and Marian Theresa Monti; and great grandson, Kaleb Monti; and her sister, Vivian Giuffreda of Bethesda, MD.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Pais, Inez Piagno, and Ada Salatel; her brothers, John DelFrari and Aurelio DeFrari.
Yola was extremely devoted to her family. An excellent cook, avid and talented seamstress and artist. Yola was a loving and dedicated wife and mother whose family was her greatest joy and love.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 31st, at 11:30am at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield, CT. Burial will take place privately in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Church on Tuesday morning between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30am.
