BROOKFIELD, CT — Election Day on Nov. 4 is fast approaching, and there are a number of key races on the ballot.

Patch reached out to candidates for office to get more information on their campaigns and the issues that are facing their towns.

Occupation: Small business owner-Home Improvment-12 years

Family: I have lived in Brookfield for about 12 years with my husband and our young son. (Patrick-spouse, Owen 11)

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? No

Previous public office, appointive or elective: Yes, I have served on the Brookfield Zoning Commission for about 5 years, and I am extremely active in our community.

Why are you seeking this office? I have always wanted to serve Brookfield. Being our Town Clerk is a wonderful opportunity to serve all of our residents and give back to my community.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: This job is non-partisan and non-political. I will follow the law and serve each resident with professionalism and care. I will create a positive and welcoming environment in the office for all of our residents.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? I have lots of municipal experience in my background. I worked for many years in revaluation for Tyler Technologies in their Appraisal and Tax Division. Our team worked on contracts in more than nine Connecticut towns. I collaborated closely with Town Clerks and Assessors.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign? As Town Clerk, I will bring focus, integrity, and hard work to serve the residents of Brookfield with professionalism and care.

During this campaign I am out knocking on doors to canvass our residents and encourage them to vote. I have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? I have a Master's degree in Education and an Undergraduate Degree in Political Science. I am focused and organized. I have helped run our family business for the last 12 years.
