Still River Greenway Trail In Brookfield Exceeds Use Estimates: Report
The trail which was installed in November has become much more popular than was initially expected.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The newly-installed Still River Greenway Trail has become very popular, according to a report from the News Times. According to preliminary information from a Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments study, between 82,00 and 201,000 users take advantage of the trail per year.

The study found that between Feb. 28 and July 24, 225 to 550 people used the trail, accounting for between 33,000 and 81,000 people in under five months. Brookfield Parks And Recreation Director Dennis DiPinto estimated between 20,000 and 30,000 would use the trail in the first year.

The trail runs from Brookfield Town Center to Rte. 133. The town has applied for a grant to expand the greenway to the municipal center.
