Year-Round Swimming Pool To Open In Brookfield: Report
Swimmers will have a new option in the winter starting next week.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Swimming enthusiasts now have a new option in the winter, as a year-round swimming pool is set to open next week at Greenknoll YMCA, reports the News Times. The pool will be covered with a 15,000-square-foot inflatable bubble tent for the fall, winter and spring.
Officials expect to open the pool Monday, after the YMCA installs light posts and it is approved by the town. (For more local news, subscribe to Brookfield Patch. In addition, you can like us on Facebook below.)
The tent will be removed from mid-May to the end of September. The Greenknoll branch of the WYMCA has grown from 1,000 to 12,000 over 30 years, and the addition of the tent is expected to meet the demand not met by the YMCA's indoor pool.
