Anna E. Grundwalski, 95

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday and a funeral service, mass of Christian burial, and burial will take place on Wednesday.

Anna E. (Pompa) Grundwalski, 95, of Collinsville, wife of the late James Grundwalski, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton.

She was born October 5, 1919 in New Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Regina (Bucek) Pompa and had lived in Collinsville for over 70 years. Mrs. Grundwalski retired from Symplex Co. in Collinsville. Anna was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville, was an avid Red Sox fan, champion bowler, bingo enthusiast, and Mohegan Sun visitor. Anna loved gardening and enjoyed the many birds that would flock to her bird feeders.

She is survived by her six children, Carol G. Carlson and her husband Lanny of Bristol, Sally Emmons and her husband Robert of Farmington, Rose G. Thompson, Robert Grundwalski, Michael Grundwalski and his wife Deborah, all of New Hartford and James Grundwalski of Collinsville. In addition, she leaves her seven grandchildren, Theodore and Gregory Carlson, Teresa Mongeon, John Thompson, Erin Palomba, Kevin Grundwalski and Julia Grundwalski; as well as her five great grandchildren; Emily and Jacob Mongeon, Caleb, Zachary and Abigail Carlson. She also leaves a sister, Katherine Bird, and brother Paul Pompa. Anna was predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters.

In celebration of Anna’s life, friends and family may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Tuesday, July 21st form 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday, July 22nd, 10:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Collinsville.
