CANTON, CT — While 1970s music group Thin Lizzy might sing that the "Boys are Back In Town," the creatures singing in rural Canton are more of the ornithological variety.

On Saturday, May 17, the Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton is hosting a program called "The Birds are Back in Town" at a local nature preserve.

It will take place on the "Sun, Wind and Woodland Preserve Trails" just north of the Breezy Hill Farm on Breezy Hill Road, Canton. Parking will be in an unpaved parking area nearby.

The property is owned by the Canton Land Conservation Trust, and the program is free for Canton residents, with funding help from the Canton Youth Services Bureau.

"Join us for a family-friendly hike as we look and listen for our feathered friends and other natural wonders," wrote the nature center in an announcement.

"We'll listen for their songs, learn about their migration patterns and how to identify common species."
