Canton 2023 Election Guide: Polls Open At 6 a.m. Tuesday
Here's everything you need to know concerning the Canton local elections, including the candidates, polling places and voting hours.

CANTON, CT — On Nov. 7, Canton residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions.
Contested races include the town council and school board.
Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration.
Canton First Selectman (vote for one)

Democrat: Bob Namnoum.
Republican: Kevin Witkos
(Note: Incumbent Democratic Mayor Robert Bessel is not seeking re-election.)
Canton Board of Selectmen (vote for two)
Democratic candidates are: Sarah Hague and Elizabeth Corklum Winsor.
Republican candidates are: Warren Humphrey and Timothy B. LeGeyt.
Board of Finance (vote for three)
Democratic candidates are: Brian Miller, Joseph Wire and Peg Berry.
Republican candidates are: Jordan Toussaint and Ken Humphrey.
Petitioning candidates are: Richard J. Barlow.
Board of Finance - two-year vacancy (vote for one)
Democrat: Katie Kenney.
Republican: Bill Canny.
Board of Education (vote for three)
Democratic candidates are: Erika Hayes, Joseph P. Scheideler and Lou Daniels.
Republican candidates are: Aubrey Blatchley, Kim M. Sullivan and Jennifer A. Diederich.
Board of Assessment Appeals (vote for one)
Democratic candidates are: Nicholas N. Ouellette.
Republican candidates are: Joel Pelehach.
