Canton Announces Thanksgiving Weekend Closures
Thanksgiving is on Thursday, Nov. 28, with several municipal impacts announced.
CANTON, CT — Thanksgiving 2024 is this week, with many area towns announcing impacts on what is closed for the annual, four-day, holiday weekend.
According to the Town of Canton, all town offices and the Canton Public Library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
They will also close early at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

"Thanksgiving is almost upon us and we want to wish you a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday," wrote the town in an announcement.
The library will reopen Saturday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hours for the town's transfer station the week of Thanksgiving will be Tuesday, Nov. 26, and Saturday, Nov. 30, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Local schools will dismiss early on Wednesday, Nov. 27, with no school on Thursday and Friday. Normal classes resume on Monday, Dec. 2.
