Canton-based Favarh has moved part of its operation to Avon, reports the Hartford Courant.
Favarh, a group that helps Farmington Valley residents who have intellectual disabilities, moved its firewood operation into industrial space off Old Farms Road earlier this month.

The operation, which is year-round and provides jobs for 14 of Favarh’s clients, was in Simsbury for three years, but the building it used was sold and Favarh had to move quickly or close the operation.

In order to move, Favarh needed the space to be donated because it can’t afford rent. The search led Favarh to Brett Eisenlohr.
Eisenlohr, a retired Avon police officer, bought the 20,000-square-foot property about a year ago and was happy to provide space to Favarh free, in part because it helped occupy what is mostly an empty building.
Eisenlohr will let Favarh use the space for free while he can.
