Canton Boutique Starts Formula Drive For Parents In Need

The shop is pairing parents who can't find formula with unused, donated bottles. "Hoping we can help in any way we can," staff wrote online.

CANTON, CT — In response to the national baby formula shortage, a Canton boutique has begun matching parents in need with donated bottles of fformula.

Anyone who has formula sitting in their cabinet — or is able to buy some at a grocery store — is invited to bring it to MamaBear Organics (122 Main St., Collinsville) between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. any day through Saturday.

All formula must be unopened and unexpired, MamaBear staff said.

And parents searching for formula can fill out a Google Docs form with information on their infant(s)'s age, allergies and formula preferences, and MamaBear staff will contact them if the formula they need has been donated to the boutique.

Information on the pick-up and swap will be emailed directly to the parents.

"We are heartbroken over the formula shortage and are hoping we can help in any way we can," staff wrote on the boutique's Facebook page.
