Canton Causes Supported Via Grant Funding Blitz

CANTON, CT — A regional foundation's fund for Canton causes has announced it has awarded funding to 11 organizations serving residents.

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving's Canton Greater Together Community Fund recently announced it has doled out $49,491 in grants to 11 nonprofits.

Administered by the fund's Canton Advisory Committee, the grants are designed to "enrich the lives of a broad cross-section of residents and fulfill unmet needs."

Among the organizations benefiting are Canton High School, the Canton Lions Club, the Canton Historical Museum, and the Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton.

Grants issued ranged from $1,000 to $10,000.

Programs supported include those serving children with different abilities, students facing food insecurity, domestic violence survivors, and people facing health issues.

The fund will also help with facility needs for several nonprofits.

In the past four years, the fund has awarded a total of 34 grants totaling $135,021 to help Canton nonprofits.
